1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Katie Hamdi Early Years Consultancy collects, uses and protects personal information when you visit this website, submit an enquiry or contact me directly.
Katie Hamdi is the person responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
For any questions about this policy or how your information is handled, please email:
2. Information I may collect
Information you provide
When you complete the website enquiry form, email me, contact me through WhatsApp or communicate with me through another professional channel, I may receive information such as:
• your name
• your professional role
• the name of your organisation
• your country or location
• your email address or telephone number
• the area of support in which you are interested
• information about your organisation, priorities or proposed work
• any timescale included with your enquiry
• subsequent professional correspondence
Please do not use the website enquiry form to provide sensitive personal information, confidential safeguarding information, details of individual children or information that could identify a child. If sensitive information becomes relevant to a professional engagement, an appropriate and secure method of sharing it will be agreed separately.
Information collected when you visit the website
Squarespace, the platform used to build and host this website, may collect limited technical and usage information when you visit. This may include:
• browser and device information
• IP address and approximate location
• pages visited
• referring website or source
• date and time of visits
• interactions with the website
Some of this information is collected through cookies and similar technologies. Further information is provided in the Cookies and Analytics section below.
3. How I use personal information
I may use personal information to:
• review and respond to enquiries
• understand an organisation’s context and priorities
• arrange an exploratory conversation
• decide whether an enquiry is aligned with my experience and availability
• prepare proposals and agree consultancy work
• communicate with prospective and existing clients
• deliver and administer agreed services
• maintain appropriate business, contractual and financial records
• protect the security and effective operation of the website
• understand general patterns of website use and improve its content
Information submitted through an enquiry will not be added to a marketing mailing list. I do not currently operate a website newsletter or use enquiry details to send unsolicited promotional emails.
4. Basis for using your information
Depending on the circumstances and the laws that apply, personal information may be processed because:
• it is necessary to respond to an enquiry or take steps towards a possible consultancy agreement
• it is necessary to deliver an agreed service or fulfil a contract
• there is a legitimate professional or business reason to respond to correspondence, administer the consultancy and maintain appropriate records
• it is necessary to meet a legal, financial or regulatory obligation
• you have given consent, particularly in relation to optional cookies
Where information is processed on the basis of consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.
5. How information is stored and shared
The website is hosted by Squarespace. Information submitted through the enquiry form may be processed by Squarespace, sent to my work email account and recorded within the website’s Squarespace Contacts panel.
My work email is provided through Google Gmail. Information may therefore be processed and stored using services provided by Squarespace and Google.
I do not sell personal information.
Information will only be shared when reasonably necessary, including:
• with service providers that support the operation of the website, email or consultancy
• with professional advisers where appropriate
• where disclosure is required by law or a competent authority
• where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal rights
• with another party where you have asked me, or clearly agreed, to do so
These providers may process information in countries outside your own. Squarespace and Google maintain their own privacy, security and international data-transfer arrangements. Their current policies can be found on their respective websites.
6. How long information is retained
Information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.
As a general approach:
• enquiries that do not lead to consultancy work may be retained for up to 24 months after the most recent meaningful contact
• information connected with agreed consultancy work may be retained for longer where necessary for contractual, safeguarding, insurance, accounting, tax or legal purposes
• information that is no longer required will be securely deleted or anonymised where reasonably practicable
A different retention period may apply where there is a legal reason to retain information or an active professional matter requires it.
7. Cookies and analytics
This website uses cookies and similar technologies to operate securely and understand general website use.
Essential cookies
Some cookies are necessary for the website to function properly and securely. These cannot always be disabled through the website’s preference controls.
Analytics cookies
Squarespace’s built-in analytics may be used to understand information such as visitor numbers, popular pages and how visitors arrive at the website. This information helps me assess and improve the usefulness of the website.
Non-essential analytics cookies will be restricted until the visitor has made a choice through the cookie banner, where required. Visitors can accept, decline or manage optional cookies.
I do not currently use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or third-party advertising trackers.
Squarespace may update the cookies used by its platform. Further information about Squarespace cookies is available through Squarespace’s published cookie guidance.
You can also control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Disabling some cookies may affect how parts of the website function.
8. Links to other websites and services
This website may include links to external services, such as LinkedIn or WhatsApp, or to other websites and professional resources.
When you follow an external link, the relevant provider’s own privacy policy and practices apply. I am not responsible for how an external website or platform processes information.
9. Information relating to children
This website and its enquiry form are intended for education organisations, school and nursery leaders, founders, owners and other adult professionals. They are not directed at children, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the website.
Please do not submit names, case details, safeguarding records or other identifiable information about children through the enquiry form.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live and the data-protection laws that apply, you may have rights relating to your personal information. These may include the right to:
• ask what personal information is held about you
• request a copy of your information
• ask for inaccurate information to be corrected
• request deletion of information in certain circumstances
• ask for processing to be restricted
• object to certain uses of your information
• withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
• raise a concern with an appropriate data-protection authority
To make a request, please email kh.eyconsultancy@gmail.com. I may need to verify your identity before responding.
These rights may be subject to legal limitations—for example, where information must be retained to meet contractual, safeguarding, financial or legal obligations.
11. Security
Reasonable steps are taken to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or disclosure. However, no website, email service or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
If particular consultancy work requires confidential or sensitive information to be shared, suitable arrangements will be agreed rather than using the general website enquiry form.
12. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated if the website, consultancy services, technology used or applicable requirements change. The date at the top of the page will show when it was most recently revised.
